Los Angeles Black Underwater Explorers

LABUE is a demographically diverse organization of divers and non-divers with membership open to all. They welcome all ages and cultures.

They strive to provide "something for everyone" in the exciting world of SCUBA diving. LABUE has found success by offering a wide variety of opportunities including beach dives, boat dives, tropical dive vacation trips to some of the most popular dive destinations on earth, and a variety of enjoyable social and networking activities.

Orange County Coastkeeper

The mission of Orange County Coastkeeper is to protect swimmable, drinkable, fishable water and promote watershed resilience throughout our region.

They are a nonprofit clean water organization that serves as a proactive steward of our fresh- and saltwater ecosystems.

Community Education

OCCK hosts regular beach cleanups. Community members are taught about the importance of proper disposal, the movement of trash through our waterways, and fun ways to be good stewards of the Earth.

K-12 Fieldtrips

K-12 students are taken on fieldtrips for little to no cost to schools! Students are taught about their local watershed and its connectivity. Students get a real world experience in nature. We encourage students to inform others of what they've learned. Some students stay within the program and develop their own research projects.

Research

OCCK manages multiple research efforts. Among these research projects is the bicoastal living shorelines project. Researchers test alternative methods to revitalize their local ecosystem.

Beyond this work, I support STEAM education
